Why we still make things from oak
Solid oak moves — it expands and contracts with humidity in ways engineered wood doesn't. That's exactly why it lasts: a well-built solid wood piece can be sanded and refinished for generations. Veneer can't.
Every HAVEN oak piece is kiln-dried slowly, over weeks rather than days, to reduce the internal stress that causes warping later. It's the least visually interesting part of the process and the most important.
None of this shows up in a product photo. It shows up in twenty years, when the table is still flat.
